The Whimsical Toy Chest
Co-created with Doki, the interactive ice rink at Montréal’s Esplanade Tranquille redefines the skating experience through real-time projection and motion tracking. The ice reacts dynamically to skaters’ movements, becoming a playful digital canvas inspired by collective imagination and childhood games. Visual and sound elements continuously emerge beneath the skates, ensuring that every session is unique.
The experience unfolds across three thirty-minute thematic environments : from gravity-defying floating worlds to neon arcade-inspired landscapes and volcanic terrains where the surface appears to transform. Shaped by both individual and collective movement, the content evolves, intensifies, and leads to unexpected outcomes, creating a fully participatory and ever-changing adventure.
